Odata cu lansarea ultimului disc, Lemmy s-a distrat cu audienta spunandu-le ca in viata asta pot fi siguri de trei lucruri: moartea, taxele si un nou album Motorhead. Evident ca taxele cresc sau moartea vine mai devreme sau mai tarziu, dar un nou album Motorhead nu poate fi ma bun sau mai slab decat precedentul sau urmatorul. Aceasta liniaritate a nascut si “credinta” ca Lemmy este nemuritor. Imi place ideea asta; macar de dragul legendei. Brandul este intretinut si de presa de specialitate. Ultimul numar din Classic Rock (septembrie 2006) vorbeste in termeni mai mult decat toleranti de Kiss of death: “..the follow-up to 2004’s Inferno, ain’t exactly a groundbreaking release. But why should it be?”.
Kiss of death nu se distanteaza perceptibil de productiile medii (rock) ale anului 2006. Este ascultabil si are suficient testosteron ca sa fie acceptat de fanii trupei. Hitul discului poate fi considerat God was never on your side (6). O balada care a “crescut” pe scheletul unui Lost in the ozone de pe Bastards reusind sa ridice capul printr-un solo decent executat de CC Deville de la Poison.
Momentele pure “motorhediene” sunt, insa, Trigger (4) si Under the Gun (5). Bass si rock’n’roll cat cuprinde.
One night stand (2), Be my baby (10) sau Going down (12) pot fi acuzate de misoginism. Pana la urma Lemmy s-a apucat de cantat ca sa agate cat mai multe “pussies”. Adevarul e ca nu le-a uitat nici de data aceasta. In booklet-ul cd-ului le multumeste tuturor fetelor (girls) pe care le-a intalnit in ultimul an.
Se cuvine sa inchei cu un citat din “biblie”:
