With the occasion of the 2nd single by Entuziastii, we finally find out who the band memebers are and which instruments they play. Therefore, the missing names on the previous cover published by Electrecord (Romania’s only record company during communism) are: Radu Tanase – voice, guitar; Dimitrie Cadere – guitar; Dan Slavescu – bass; Mihai Ivanovici – keyboard and Costin Dobrin – drums.
The four “new” songs are covers, just as on the previous single. In lack of other information, we could conclude the entire setlist of the band consisted of cover versions.
« I’m a beliver » (1), from Jeff Barry, develops in a standard and decent manner. It’s a rock song from early 60‘s.
In accord with a diversity pattern, probably in use back then, Miller’s composition “Ten guitars” (2) is a moderate shake.
Another shake “Glad all over” (3) composed by Dave Clark comes in the same classic manner of interpretation. Both the songs on this minialbum and those from the previous release are played as much as possible close to the “originals”. It seems that bringing the 60’s fashionable music in Romania was a serious “artistic” option for the local performers.
The same Dave Clark is the author of the rock piece “Can’t you see she’s mine” (4). A short keyboard solo followed by a guitar intervention make the interpretation particular. It’s the most present personal note in relation with the other three songs chosen for this single.
Just as the other single from the band, and many other Romanian releases from the 60’s, this short moment from Entuziastii speaks indirectly about a time when, isolated by the communist censorship from the decadent Western world, Romanians attempted to bring home (in any possible way) part of the things presented by the local authorities as « unfit ».
